History
Battery World is a subsidiary of parent company Century Yuasa Batteries Pty Ltd. In 1997, the retail arm, Battery World was created by as a response to the growing consumer demand for a dedicated battery retailer in Australia. Battery World was established in 1997 to meet growing consumer demand for dedicated battery retail and technical expertise across Australia.[3] The first Battery World store was opened in Cairns, Queensland, with a second store in Townsville, Queensland. From 1998 onwards, Battery World expanded its number of stores by opening franchise stores in major Australian cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra. Battery World also opened in regional cities such as Dubbo, Cairns and Bendigo, developing a national footprint of locally owned and operated stores.
