Comment: Thank you for your efforts on this draft! I'm declining this submission for the following reasons:1) The references provided are almost entirely primary or commercial sources. The manufacturer's own website, retail product listings (Amazon, ToyWiz, Mercari), an auction house listing, and a Facebook post. These do not establish notability, as they are not independent of the subject. To demonstrate notability, the article would need coverage from independent reliable secondary sources such as toy industry publications or journalistic features that discuss the figures as a subject in their own right.2) Inline citations: The article contains no inline citations. References are listed at the bottom but not attached to any claims. Per WP:CITE, all claims must be supported by inline citations. The writing is also not of encyclopedic quality - what is a "scoundrel hand market"? I would encourage you to search for independent, reliable secondary sources that discuss this product line before resubmitting. If such sources exist, building the article around them with proper inline citations would significantly strengthen the submission. Veggiegalaxy (talk) 15:40, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Overview
The Beatles action figure line was created and released by the McFarlane Toys company in September of 1999, and continued to run until 2005. In 2004, the Yellow Submarine (film) line ended, but a new line of The Beatles (TV series) action figures was made and ran until 2005. Three series of the figures were released, with the first one in 1999, the second series in 2000, the third series, series two box set, and series one re-released figures in 2004, and the series 3 box set being released in 2005.
Series One, 1999
The first line of figures were made for the re-release of the 1968 Yellow Submarine (album), now the Yellow Submarine Songtrack, and for the re-release of the 1968 movie, Yellow Submarine (film). Series One was released in September of 1999. The original line consisted of George Harrison with Yellow Submarine, John Lennon with Jeremy Hilary Boob, Paul McCartney with The Dreadful Flying Glove and Love Base, Ringo Starr with The Chief Blue Meanie and Paul McCarthy with Old Fred. Paul McCarthy with Old Fred is the rarest from the set, as it was made with a limited quality. It was not shown on the back of the other figures packaging. Each figure was sold individually for around 10-20 dollars, not adjusted for inflation. The after market on Ebay and other toy collection sites marks that each figure is worth about 25-50 dollars each.
Series Two, 2000
The second line of the figures was also based on the 1968 film, and released in October of 2000. It consisted of the main band figures with new partners, and as they are seen in the Pepper Land section of the film. The line had Paul with Sucking Monster, John with The Four-Headed Bulldog, George with The Snapping Turtle Turk, and Ringo with The Apple Bonker. All of them come with an instrument for the band member, and Ringo Starr with The Apple Bonker comes with an additional green apple toy. All of series 2 like the original line costed about 10-20 dollars, and cost around 25-50 dollars on the after market.
Series One, 2004
In 2004, series One was re-released with the same characters, excluding Old Fred, but with different match ups. The line consisted of Ringo with Yellow Submarine, George Harrison with The Chief Blue Meanie, Paul with Jeremy, and John with Glove and Love Base. All of the original characters from series one 1999 were the same as the re-release in 2004, with no changes to their appearances or materials. The figures costed 10 to 20 dollars, and sell for around 25-50 dollars on different after markets. The only change in the chapters was their packaging, as it was smaller than the original, and square instead of rectangle.
Series Two, 2004
There was one series Two figure set realsed in 2004, and it was the Yellow Submainre Boxed Set. It consisted of Paul, John, Ringo, George, and the Yellow Submairne. The band members where in the outfits from series one 1999 and 2004. The original price in stores is unknown, and it sells on the scoundrel hand market for around 100 to 200 dollars. It was sold only at Musicland stores.
Series Three, 2004-2005
Series three was the third and final series of figures, running from 2004-2005. It was based on the popular Beatles Cartoon show from the 1960s, and consisted of Paul, John, George, and Ringo all sold separately at first. Each figure had the band members and their instruments. Each member came with a piece of the stage, and if you collected them all you could create a stage to fit all the figures. In 2005, the boxed set was released. This consisted of the 4 members, the complete stage, and an alligator.
