Brian Atkinson (also known as "Bassie" Atkinson) is a Jamaican bassist associated with ska, rocksteady, and reggae music. He was a member of the Studio One house bands The Soul Vendors and Sound Dimension.[1]
Atkinson performed during the rocksteady era at Studio One and played with musicians associated with recordings by artists including Bob Marley, Alton Ellis, Ken Boothe, and Delroy Wilson.[2]
The Jamaica Observer described Atkinson as "one of the finest musicians of the rocksteady era".[3]
