Comment: We don't accept the NY Post as a reliable source, which just leaves two sources covering just one aspect of the subject's life and career. Given the similar wording in both pieces, it seems there was a press release behind this. See the WP:GOLDENRULE, we need ideally three reliable sources giving significant length of the subject's life and career. ChrysGalley (talk) 07:51, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
Bryan Smiley
Bryan Smiley is an American media executive and producer who has worked across film, television, and digital media. He has held executive roles at Columbia Pictures and Hartbeat.
Career
Prior to joining Columbia Pictures, Smiley co-founded No Label Productions, a multicultural film and television company, and consulted for Fox Digital Entertainment and Fox Digital Studios.[1][2]
Smiley later joined Columbia Pictures as an executive, where he worked on talent deals involving Stephen Curry's Unanimous Media and Issa Rae.[3]
In 2019, Smiley was appointed President of Film and Television at Kevin Hart's Hartbeat Productions.[3]
During his tenure at Hartbeat, the company established partnerships with Netflix, Peacock, Audible, and SiriusXM. According to TheWrap, Smiley oversaw more than $500 million in productions and projects that received Emmy Awards, Cannes Lion Awards, and NAACP Image Awards.[4]
Smiley served as president and Chief Content Officer of Hartbeat until 2025, when he departed the company during a period of executive restructuring.
In 2026, Smiley launched Hard Carry Media, a Los Angeles-based digital media company focused on Gen Z audiences. The company debuted with Full Squad as its flagship entertainment brand.[4]
That same year, Hard Carry Media entered a joint venture with Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton's Unanimous Media to develop creator-led sports programming for platforms including YouTube and TikTok.[1]
