Chino Spectrum is a commercial retail center located in Chino, California, comprising two adjacent retail power centers: Chino Spectrum Towne Center and Chino Spectrum Marketplace. Situated close to the border of Chino and Chino Hills on Grand Avenue, this expansive outdoor development stands as a premier retail and culinary destination in the Inland Empire area.

The complex boasts a vast assortment of big-box discount department stores, niche retailers, supermarkets, and restaurants, attracting an estimated 14 to 15 million annual visitors.

History

Before its development as a commercial hub, the site now occupied by Chino Spectrum was largely undeveloped farmland, mostly consisting of local cornfields. Historically, the property was managed as a high-density retail property catering to the affluent and rapidly expanding population of the Chino Valley.

In January 2026, real estate investment trust (REIT) Brixmor Property Group acquired the 461,000-square-foot Chino Spectrum Towne Center from MetLife, as part of its multi-state retail acquisition strategy to boost its holdings in the Southern California suburban market.

Layout and Retailers

Chino Spectrum operates as an open-air retail park, unlike a conventional enclosed shopping mall. The complex is segregated into two distinct functional zones, positioned across the Grand Avenue commercial artery.

Chino Spectrum Towne Center

The Towne Center, situated on the north side of the commercial strip, covers an impressive 461,000 square feet. It is anchored by prominent retail chains such as H Mart, Kohl's, Best Buy, Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls, and Ulta Beauty. The Towne Center also enjoys the advantage of being in close proximity to a high-traffic Walmart Supercenter and a Sam's Club warehouse. Dining options within this section include culinary giants like In-N-Out Burger, Olive Garden, Red Robin, and Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers.

Chino Spectrum Marketplace

Adjacent to the Towne Center, the Marketplace adds significantly to the complex's retail scale with a 614,000-square-foot power center configuration. This section houses numerous big-box retailers and discount outlets, as well as a collection of independent businesses and a community-oriented food court. Notable retailers in the Marketplace include Target, Cravings by 99 Ranch Market, Aldi, Petco, Dollar Tree, Dick's Sporting Goods, TJ Maxx, Ross, and Michaels.
