Draft:Deepan Boopathy

  • Comment: Source 1 is self published, so is source 5 (interview). Source 2 is IMDB which cannot used as a source, see WP:IMDB. This leaves source 3 (and 4) which is a brief mention, self publicity taken from social media and can't be used to establish notability. There are also signs of LLM use, which is also not allowed. Deepan Boopathy is an Indian film producer associated with the Tamil film industry. He is known for producing the Tamil-language psychological thriller film Puriyatha Puthir (2017), starring Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie.

Career

Deepan Boopathy has worked in Tamil-language film production and distribution through Rebel Studio Productions.[1]

He was one of the producers of Puriyatha Puthir (2017), directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi and starring Vijay Sethupathi.

The film underwent a delayed production and release cycle before being released in September 2017.[2]

Boopathy was also associated with the unreleased Tamil film Aakko, whose soundtrack gained independent popularity despite the film not receiving a theatrical release. In April 2026, The Indian Express reported on the renewed attention received by the song "Enakenna Yaarum Illaye", originally produced for Aakko and later featured in the film Love Insurance Kompany.[3]

According to the report, the song was produced by Deepan Boopathy in 2014 as part of the Aakko project and later developed a substantial audience independently through digital platforms.[4]

In a 2023 interview with IndiaGlitz, Boopathy discussed the impact of streaming platforms and the COVID-19 pandemic on Tamil cinema producers and distributors.[5]
