Dior Negeen Goodjohn (born August 13, 2006) is an American actress and singer-songwriter. She made her acting debut in an episode of the series Glee. Goodjohn gained recognition for starring as Clarisse La Rue in the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023–present) and has been described as “one of Hollywood’s rising young stars.”[2]

Career

Acting

Prior to acting, Goodjohn began as a model, appearing in an Old Navy campaign at eight months old and, by age three, in national commercials for JCPenney and ABCmouse.[1][3] She had her acting debut in 2013, at six years old, portraying young Santana in the series Glee.[4] Her early introduction to acting was partly influenced by her father, a former actor, who continues to offer occasional guidance in her career.[5][6]

Goodjohn has since appeared in several series, including Raven's Home and The Unicorn. She had her first recurring role in HBO Max's sitcom reboot Head of the Class.[7][3] In 2022, she played Summer DaCosta in the third season of Nickelodeon's rebooted anthology series Are You Afraid of the Dark?.[8]

In June 2022, it was announced that Goodjohn had been cast in the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, based on the fantasy book series of the same name by Rick Riordan.[9] She plays Clarisse La Rue, a daughter of the god Ares, first appearing as a recurring character in season 1 and later joining the main cast in season 2.[10] In the show, Clarisse is a more prominent and complex character than in the books, expanding the role beyond that of a one-dimensional bully to a more emotionally developed and layered figure. This portrayal has been generally well received by critics and audiences.[11] Goodjohn described the process of portraying Clarisse as “therapeutic”, stating that she was able to relate to the character.[12]

In a conversation with actress Dafne Keen in December 2025, Goodjohn, who identifies as a woman of color, emphasized the importance of representation, stating that “it is very important to me that I do myself, as well as all the little girls that look up to me, justice.”[13] Modeliste Magazine described her as “the perfect mix of ambition and authenticity.”[14]

Music

In March 2024, Goodjohn released her debut single Focus.[15] She later released God's Favorite in October 2024 and BET in February 2025. Her music, described as pop and R&B, has been called “a refreshing and honest voice” in the genre.[16][17]
