Driventic is a German manufacturer headquartered in Heidenheim an der Brenz, specializing in drive technologies for commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and off-highway applications.

History

Driventic was spun off from the commercial vehicle division of Voith Turbo in November 2025, as an independent company with around 1400 employees in 18 countries[1][2][3]. This is according to the strategy that Voith is checking to sale the commerical vehicle devision[4]. Meanwhile, the works council was elected as a part of the spin-off process [5].

Products

Driventic provides thechnical solutions and components for buses, trucks and off-highway vehicles using products including Electric Drive Systems (former Voith Electrical Drive System [*]), automatic transmissions (former Voith DIWA), retarders, retarder clutch, air compressor, vibration damper and exhaust heat recovery solutions[6].

Partnerships

An electric drive axle introduced in ACT EXPO 2026 in Las Vegas based on a cooperation with Hendrikson[7][8], which is itself rooted in the previously confirmed sterategic partnership between Voith and Hendrikson in April 2025[9][10].

Productions

Factories are sited in Garching, Shanghai[1] and St. Georgen am Steinfelde [11][12].

Research and development

According to the solutions found for specific technical problems, there are some active patents and scientific articles in review and published such as performance, noise and vibration analysis [13]

Notes

  • * VEDS (Voith Electrical Drive System) is renamed to Driventic VEDS.
