Eric Poe (born 1972) is an American business executive and attorney. He is the chief executive officer of CURE Auto Insurance, a New Jersey-based auto insurance company.[1][2][3]
Early life and education
Poe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1994. Later, in 2002 he received his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law.[4] He is a licensed attorney and a certified public accountant.[5]
Career
Poe joined CURE Auto Insurance and NJ PURE Insurance in 1994.[6] He previously served as the company’s chief operating officer[7][8][9] before being appointed chief executive officer.[10][11] During this period, CURE Auto Insurance expanded to more than 400 employees and extended its services to Pennsylvania[12], and in July 2021 expanded into Michigan following the passage of Michigan's 2019 no-fault auto insurance reform law.[13][14]
Poe has testified before the United States House Committee on Financial Services in 2008 and 2020 on issues related to auto insurance scoring and affordability.[15][16]
Awards and recognition
Poe received NJBIZ's 40 Under 40 award in 2004[6], the Commitment and Achievement Award from the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey in 2019[17][18], NJBIZ 's Leaders in Law award in 2021[19], and was included in the Philadelphia Business Journal's Most Admired CEOs list in 2025.[20]
