erwin Data Intelligence

erwin Data Intelligence (erwin DI) is a data governance and data management software solution designed to support organizations in managing, understanding, and governing enterprise data assets. History

erwin DI started under a company called AnalytiX Data Services (ADS). Between 2010 and 2018 the focus was on being a Data Catalog and Lineage solution (with limited business glossary capabilities) focused on integrating with major ETL vendors.[2]

In 2018, erwin Inc., which already had erwin DM in its portfolio, acquired ADS, to get into the Data Governance Market and the product was officially renamed as erwin Data Intelligence with the focus then primarily on expanding capabilities in the governance space.[3]

The erwin Data Intelligence platform was developed as part of the erwin product portfolio, which originated as a data modeling solution. Over time, the platform was expanded to address broader data governance and metadata management requirements, including data cataloging and business glossary capabilities.[4]

In December 2020, erwin Inc was acquired by Quest Software to expand its portfolio in the Data Space.[5]
