Unlike other animation software, FireAlpaca does not have an animation timeline but rather utilizes each layer as a frame. Durring preview of the animation, the layers cycle sequentially at a user set frame rate.[10] Duplicating layers will show that frame for a longer period of time.[citation needed] The animation can be exported as a GIF, APNG, or an image sequence.[10]
FireAlpaca supports the following file formats: MDP, PNG, JPEG, BMP, PSD, ICO, GIF, and APNG.[11][12]
