Comment: On English Wikipedia the requirements are set out in WP:SIRS, note in particular the sections on corporate depth and corporate trivia. The funding sources are in that second category. At the moment there is insufficient sourcing to show corporate depth, of the company, rather than the app's potential. ChrysGalley (talk) 11:11, 3 June 2026 (UTC)

FizzUp is a French digital fitness company based in Colmar, Alsace. Founded in 2011, the company develops a mobile and web-based platform for home workout programs.
History
Julien Lavault founded the company in 2011 (originally under the name Fysiki) with the aim of increasing access to physical activity through digital technology.[1]. From 2011 to 2014, the Fysiki web platform served as the company’s flagship product. In 2014, the company launched the FizzUp mobile app, focusing on accessible equipment-free home workouts.
By 2016, FizzUp surpassed one million users and secured €1.4 million in funding[2]. That same year, it became the most downloaded "Health & Fitness" app in France. The company operates on a freemium business model, allowing users to train for free while offering advanced features through a paid subscription[3].
In 2022, FizzUp partnered with Siel Bleu, a non-profit organization specializing in adapted physical activity, to develop programs that combine digital tools with physical support. During the same year, the company launched FizzUp School, a pro bono initiative designed to help teachers integrate movement into the classroom. This project aligns with the "30 Minutes of Daily Physical Activity" mandate introduced by the French Ministry of National Education and the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee. FizzUp School is currently recognized as an educational resource in several French academic regions, including Nice and the Alpes-Maritimes.
In 2024, FizzUp expanded its B2B offerings, allowing third-party services to integrate its training modules via an SDK and API. Later that year, Siel Bleu fully acquired FizzUp. This merger facilitated the development of specialized platforms targeting specific health needs, such as pulmonary fibrosis and the prevention of sedentary behavior in the workplace[4].
Awards and Recognition
In 2011, FizzUp joined a startup incubator, establishing a scientific collaboration between sports physiology and medicine[5]. The company has twice received the "Innovative Technology Company" award from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the shift toward home-based exercise led the French Ministry of Sports to officially recommend the platform as a resource for maintaining physical activity. This recommendation aligned with national health guidelines issued during the lockdowns[6], which advised:
- Adults: Engaging in 30 minutes of dynamic physical activity daily.
- Children: Ensuring one hour of daily physical activity.
- Sedentary behavior: Standing up to walk and stretch every two hours to avoid prolonged sitting or lying positions.
- General fitness: Performing varied activities several times per week to improve strength, flexibility, and balance.
In 2024, coinciding with the Paris Olympic Games and the Grande Cause Nationale campaign "Bouge 30’", the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Community Life granted official accreditation to FizzUp’s "Virtual Open House" events in recognition of its public outreach efforts to promote physical activity[7].
