Fluance (stylized in all caps) is a Canadian audio technology company headquartered in Niagara Falls, Ontario. It designs and manufactures high-fidelity turntables, powered speakers, and home audio loudspeakers.
History
Fluance was founded in 1999 by Deepak Jain to design and manufacture high-fidelity audio equipment. The name is a neologism combining the Latin root flu- ("flowing") and the suffix -ance ("state of being").[1][2]
Fluance's first products were the AV and SX passive loudspeaker packages, which featured solid-wood cabinets and a lifetime parts warranty.[1] In 2017, Fluance launched the Ai40 powered speakers, which received positive reviews. Sound & Vision judged the model to deliver "great sound and easy setup at a stunningly low price."[3]
In May 2016, Fluance released the RT80 and RT81 belt-drive turntables. TechRadar later called the RT81 "easily the best starter turntable you can buy," citing its mix of convenience and upgrade potential.[4] The RT80 and RT81 are part of the Elite Series and include a built-in phono preamp. The Reference Series (RT82–RT85N) omits the preamp and uses servo-controlled motors. An updated model, the RT81+, was released in July 2023 with an Audio-Technica VM95E cartridge, a damped platter, and isolation feet.[5]
In March 2025, Fluance announced the Ri71 powered bookshelf speakers and Ri91 powered floorstanding speakers, which use Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeters and integrated Class-D amplifiers.[6]
Operations
Fluance's corporate offices, engineering and quality-assurance labs are located in Niagara Falls and products are designed in Canada.[7] Finished goods are distributed through warehouses in Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, United States, and the European Union. Its products are sold primarily through online marketplaces and its own website.[8]
Products
Fluance manufactures a range of audio products organized by series and type. Its passive loudspeakers are grouped into the Signature, Reference and Elite series, available in bookshelf, centre-channel, and floor-standing formats. Models use medium-density fibreboard (MDF) cabinets and may include features such as woven-glass-fibre drivers or AMT tweeters.[1][6]
Powered speakers have two series: the Reference series (Ri71, Ri91) and the Elite series (Ai41, Ai61, Ai81).[7]
The RT-series of belt-drive turntables (RT80 through RT85, and RT81+) feature solid-wood plinths, switchable phono stages, and upgradable cartridges.[9]
