In Geometry Dash, a special currency known as Shards (Shards Of Power) is essential for acquiring cosmetic upgrades. These shards are categorized into ten distinct types, divided into two groups/tiers: Tier 1, which includes fire, ice, poison, shadow, and lava shards, and Tier 2, comprising earth, blood, metal, light, and soul shards.[1] Players can obtain these shards through various in-game actions, including opening daily reward chests, successfully finishing gauntlets, and exploring the Treasure Room.[2] After gathering them, shards are then exchanged in the Icon Kit for new icons and other visual customizations.[3] While each shard type is counted separately, unlocking bonus rewards for each tier depends on the lowest number of shards you possess within that tier.[4] Therefore, maintaining a balanced collection of shards is crucial for obtaining the most rewards. The game allows players to store up to 100 of each shard type, with any excess automatically transforming into mana orbs.[5]
