Gerard Jess (born 06 March 1977) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Brisbane career
Gerard Jess was selected by the Brisbane Bears with pick 75 in the 1994 AFL National Draft..[1] He was listed with the club across the 1995 season[2], during the final years of the Bears before their merger into the Brisbane Lions[3]
Despite being on the senior list, Jess did not make a senior AFL appearance during his time at Brisbane.
Geelong career
Following his time in Brisbane, Jess spent a period on the list of the Geelong Football Club in 1996.
Similar to his time at Brisbane, he did not play a senior AFL match for Geelong, instead developing within the club system and competing at a lower level.
Post-AFL career
After his playing career, Jess transitioned into roles within sport administration and fan engagement. He has held positions in the AFL industry, including working in areas such as membership, fan development, and talent growth.
During this time, he has held positions at St Kilda Football Club[4], and currently Collingwood Football Club.
