Ghost Jr (born Arthur Wendelen, 22 September 2006, Belgium) is a Belgian DJ and music producer known for blending Eurodance and techno with retro-inspired elements. He is the son of DJ Ghost (Bjorn Wendelen), widely regarded as Belgium's number one retro DJ and one of the country's most enduring electronic music figures. Ghost Jr has performed at Tomorrowland on multiple occasions and released music through labels such as Bonzai Records.
Early life
Arthur Wendelen was born on 22 September 2006 in Belgium. His father, Bjorn Wendelen — known professionally as DJ Ghost — is a defining figure in the Belgian electronic music scene, having performed at every edition of Tomorrowland and maintaining an active career spanning decades. Widely recognised as Belgium's foremost retro DJ, DJ Ghost built his reputation through the formative years of Belgian rave and dance culture and continues to headline major stages to this day.
Arthur was first brought on stage at Tomorrowland at just 10 months of age, making his earliest appearance on one of the world's most iconic festival stages before he could walk. Growing up in this environment, he developed an early affinity for electronic music and performance.
In 2016, at nine years old, Arthur took the microphone during his father's set at Laundry Day festival — a Belgian electronic music event — and addressed a crowd of over 10,000 people with the words "handen omhoog" ("hands up"), a moment captured on video.
Career
Tomorrowland appearances (2023–2025)
Before making his official solo debut, Ghost Jr appeared as a featured guest during DJ Ghost's sets at Tomorrowland in 2023, 2024, and 2025 — each time on the Rose Garden stage, performing in front of an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 people per show.
In July 2023, Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws (HLN) published a feature on Ghost Jr, profiling the then-16-year-old as a rising presence in the Belgian dance music scene.[1] The article noted his father's ambition for his trajectory, quoting DJ Ghost: "Een lancering in Club Vaag? Ik dacht eerder aan Tomorrowland." ("A launch at Club Vaag? I was thinking more like Tomorrowland.")
Official debut and 2026
Ghost Jr made his official performing debut in June 2025 at Strafstudie, a Belgian electronic music event.
In 2026, he is scheduled to perform at Ostend Beach, and at the closing of the Cherry Moon hosted Rose Garden stage at Tomorrowland, - one of Tomorrowland's most storied and historically significant stages — marking a notable step in his developing career.
He is represented by Ground Control Agency[2] and has performed at Fantasia Festival, Summer Festival, and Gladiolen festival.
Father–son project
Ghost Jr also performs as part of a duo act with his father, DJ Ghost & Ghost Jr. The project unites two generations of electronic music — DJ Ghost's decades of experience headlining major stages across the world, alongside Ghost Jr's contemporary production sensibility and growing stage presence. The act has been received as a genuine creative collaboration rather than simply a novelty, with the pair releasing original music together.
