Inflexion Private Equity Partners LLP is a European private equity firm headquartered in London. Founded in 1999, the firm invests in mid-market companies in Northern Europe.[1] As of 2026, Inflexion has approximately €20 billion in assets under management.[2] The company employs over 200 people across six global investment locations in the UK, Europe and the US.[3] [4]
History
1999-2019
Inflexion was co-founded in 1999 by John Hartz and Simon Turner with a focus on investing in UK mid-market companies.
The firm raised its first institutional fund in 2003 and completed its first exit in 2004, with the sale of cinema operator Ster Century.[5] [6]
During the 2010s, Inflexion launched new strategies focused on minority investments and lower mid-market transactions while broadening its geographic reach beyond the United Kingdom.[4] [7]
In 2014, Inflexion launched Buyout Fund IV, targeting majority equity investments in the mid-market. In the same year, it launched Partnership Capital Fund I, a minority equity strategy aimed at business owners seeking institutional backing without relinquishing control or taking on debt.[8]
In 2016, Inflexion launched Enterprise Fund IV, targeting majority and minority equity investments within the lower mid-market, and Inflexion Supplemental Fund IV to co-invest alongside the buyout and partnership funds raised in 2014.[9]
In 2018, the firm established the Inflexion Foundation, a charitable initiative focused on supporting disadvantaged young people and environmental causes. By 2026, it had committed £20 million to 80 charities predominantly in the UK and Europe through grants, strategic partnerships and matched fundraising.[10][11]
In May 2019, Inflexion closed Inflexion Enterprise Fund V LP and the Inflexion Supplemental Fund V, raising £400m and £600m respectively.[12] [13]

In the same year, Inflexion held a final close for Enterprise Fund VI at its £975 million hard cap.[21]
In May 2025, Inflexion closed Continuation Fund I at £2.3 billion, one of the largest multi-asset continuation funds raised in Europe at that time.[22] [23]
In March 2026, Inflexion closed Inflexion Buyout Fund VII at €4.5 billion, above its €3.75 billion target after six months in the market. [24]
In June 2026, Inflexion was ranked 78th in Private Equity International's PEI 300 ranking among the world's largest private equity firms.[25]
