Informal romanization or chat language resers to a number of ad hoc language transliteration schemes that focus on the appearance rather than the phonetics of letters from the Latin alphabet.[1][2] It can be regarded as a form of digraphia.[3]
Examples include Arabizi for Arabic, Greeklish for Greek, and Translit for Russian.[2][3]
