ispmanager is a commercial web hosting control panel for Linux-based servers. It provides a web interface for administering web, database and mail services without using the command line, and can be installed on physical servers or virtual machines.

Through its interface the panel manages common server software, including the Apache HTTP Server, Nginx and LiteSpeed/OpenLiteSpeed web servers; the MySQL, MariaDB, Percona and PostgreSQL database servers; and an Exim/Dovecot mail server.

History

The first public release of the control panel appeared in 2004.[1]

Version 5 was released in 2014, built on the developer's proprietary COREmanager framework and distributed as deb/rpm packages with data stored in SQLite or MySQL.

Version 6 was released in 2021, adding interface and update improvements, resource monitoring, an updated APS repository and Ansible support.[2]

In March 2022 the product was spun off from its original developer, ISPsystem, into a separate company that focuses solely on the control panel.[3]

Editions

ispmanager is offered in three editions that differ mainly by the number of supported sites and the availability of features such as Docker virtualization and CloudLinux limits: lite (up to 10 sites), pro (up to 50 sites, with Docker and CloudLinux support) and host (unlimited sites). A 14-day free trial is available.

Features

The panel can configure Apache, Nginx and LiteSpeed/OpenLiteSpeed web servers with per-site version selection for PHP, Python and Node.js. It supports one-click installation of content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal and Joomla, and works with the MySQL, MariaDB, Percona and PostgreSQL databases.

Security and maintenance functions include automatic issuing of Let's Encrypt SSL certificates, scheduled and manual backups to local or external storage, a configurable firewall, Fail2ban, WireGuard VPN, DNSSEC and integrations with third-party protection services. Mail functions cover mail domains, mailboxes, aliases, the Roundcube webmail client and spam/virus filtering.

The panel exposes an API and offers integration with billing systems including HostBill,[4] WiseCP, Blesta, ClientExec, WHMCS and BILLmanager.[5] It can restore cPanel and Plesk backup files and transfer users between ispmanager installations.

Supported operating systems

ispmanager supports current versions of Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux.
