Jacob Emrani is an American personal injury attorney based in Los Angeles, California.[1] He is the founder and principal of the Law Offices of Jacob Emrani, a firm known across Southern California for its widespread advertising under the slogan and domain "Call Jacob" (CallJacob.com).[2] Emrani is an official sponsor of the Los Angeles Lakers[3] and a member of the State Bar of California.[4]
Early life and education
Emrani attended the University of Southern California for his undergraduate studies.[1] He later attended Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, earning his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1996.[4]
Legal career
Emrani was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1996 (License #185535).[4] In the same year, he founded the Law Offices of Jacob Emrani.[2] The firm specializes in personal injury litigation, including:
- Motor vehicle and car accidents[2]
- Trucking and commercial vehicle accidents[2]
- Premises liability (slip and fall, dog bites)[2]
- Workers' compensation[2]
- Wrongful death[2]
His firm has expanded to serve clients throughout Southern and Central California, operating on a contingency fee model with free consultations and travel services for injured clients.[2] Emrani is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), the National Trial Lawyers (Top 100 Trial Lawyers), and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.[2]
Marketing and sponsorships
Emrani is prominent in Southern California for high-volume billboard, radio, and television advertising featuring the tagline "Call Jacob."[5]
In October 2019, the Los Angeles Lakers announced a multi-season sponsorship agreement with Emrani and his firm.[3] As an official sponsor, Emrani launched in-arena fan engagements at Crypto.com Arena (formerly STAPLES Center), sponsored team highlight features on regional networks, and launched civic billboard campaigns—including a 200-billboard campaign across Los Angeles celebrating the Lakers' 2020 NBA Championship.[5]
Legal proceedings
In January 2024, a proposed class action lawsuit (Mechaly v. Emrani) was filed against Emrani and his law firm in Los Angeles County Superior Court.[6] The complaint alleged predatory retainer fee structures and administrative fee charges related to client intake and case management.[6] Emrani, through his legal representation, denied the allegations as "manufactured and frivolous."[6]
Community involvement
Through his firm's outreach program, Call Jacob Cares, Emrani participates in local community initiatives, philanthropic donations, and local youth and family support programs in Southern California.[2]
