Jon Reshard (born October 2nd, 1985) is an American musical artist and bass guitarist for progressive rock band Vigilant. In addition to releasing two instrumental albums of his own (22 and eponymous), he has also performed and with various music acts. He is known for his musical and harmonic approach to the instrument, as well as playing a half fretted, half fretless bass guitar made by Brown's Guitar Factory in Minnesota. Jon was also nominated NoTreble's "Top 10 Cover Tunes Arranged For Bass"^[1], for his arrangement of Billy Joel's "She's Always a Woman".

Jon Reshard was born in Long Island, New York, on October 2nd 1985. His Mother, Karen Moore, played clarinet. Hls father, Al Reshard, played funk, fusion and jazz bass, who began teaching Jon how to play as a gag for his friends.

After a few years in New York, Jon's father took a job transfer that relocated the family to Jacksonville, Florida, where Jon would frequently attend his father's shows, festivals, recording sessions and choir rehearsals. Jon also attended Douglas Anderson School of the Arts High School where he would join the schools jazz ensemble, learning how to read, notate music as well as learn how to play in a jazz ensemble and compete at State and other competitions such as Lincoln Center's Essentially Ellington, winning 1st place.

At age 14 he also received his first endorsement with boutique guitar manufacturer, Fodera guitars alongside the likes of bassists including Anthony Jackson, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten. In 2001, Jon joined forces with Dennis Chambers protogé Tony Royster Jr. on drums for a Guitar Center clinic tour, quickly establishing his name in the instrumental community. In 2003, Reshard received a phone call to work with blues rock guitarist Greg Howe.

In late 2007, Jon was invited to collaborate on Greg Howe's eighth studio new album entitled "Sound Proof"^[2] for Mike Varney's Tone Center (Shrapnel) Records. Shortly after graduating high school, he would begin writing and recording his 2nd instrumental album eponymously titled, featuring Greg Howe on guitar and Dave Weckl (Chick Corea Elektric Band) on drums. The album was received generally well and dubbed "Recommended Listening with Damien Erskine"^[3] bassist and son of Peter Erskine (Weather Report), published by Guitar World's Bass Player Magazine.

In 2011 Jon began work with Prince's NPG (New Power Generation) musical director, Morris Hayes who after hearing Reshard's album, quickly connected Jon with Prince for an album and possible tour.

While working with Prince, Reshard was advised that he should create more of his own music. This led to the formation of prog rock band Vigilant, spearheaded by Reshard, drummer Padget "Fre$h" Nanton III and vocalist Chloe Demetria.

In late 2011, Jon worked with drummer Thomas Pridgen with his band, The Memorials, as well as a tour and bass recording for their sophomore album entitled "Delirium". The band line-up included Viveca Hawkins on vocals, Nick Brewer on guitar and Randy Emata contributing synth/keys.

In 2015, Jon began producing for Warner Bros. and Universal Music HK with Fre$h for Vigilant Nation. Artists including Joey Wong, and songs "Have a Good Time"^[4] by MC Cheung and Terence Lam's "Adventures in Wonderland"^[5] amongst others.

In 2024, Jon was recruited by music producer Omar Dominick and Dublington Ent. to join JYP Entertainment's South Korean boy band Stray Kids for their fourth world tour DominAte,^[6] spanning over a year and including 40 cities. The world tour would go on to be theatrically released internationally in February, 2026, including footage of the DominAte World Tour at SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles.
