The Kurdistan Technical Institute (KTI; Kurdish: پەیمانگەی تەکنیکی کوردستان) is a private technical higher education institution located in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. It was established on 19 October 2015 by ministerial decree No. 21923, issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). KTI offers two-year diploma programmes across a range of technical, health, and professional disciplines. It is one of the first private technical institutes in the Kurdistan Region to combine health sciences, engineering technology, and business fields under a single institution.

History

KTI was founded on 19 October 2015 by Dr. Rebwar Mala Nabi, an academic and educational entrepreneur, as well as a group of academics and investors. KTI owned and supervised by Maya Company, which is a subsidiary of Qaiwan Group, one of the leading companies in KRI, Iraq, and the region. Its creation was formalized through ministerial decree No. 21923 by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government, under which the institute continues to operate. The institute was founded in response to a recognised need in the Kurdistan Region for modern, technically-oriented diploma programs aligned with the demands of the regional labor market. Since its founding, KTI has expanded from a small number of departments to twelve academic departments spanning health, technology, and business fields.

Mission and Vision

KTI's stated mission is to deliver high-quality technical education at the diploma level through cooperation with partner institutions, with the aim of preparing graduates for the demands of the public and private sectors in the Kurdistan Region and beyond.[2]

Its vision is to become the leading and most preferred technical institute in the region by providing skilled and competent graduates across a broad range of professional and technical fields.
