Leeda

Leeda is a British manufacturer and distributor of fishing tackle, based in Milton Keynes, England. The company's product portfolio includes its own-name Leeda brand alongside two other brands it owns, Wychwood and MAP (formerly known as Match Angling Products).

Leeda is part of H. Young Holdings plc, a Newbury, Berkshire-headquartered group with interests across the fishing tackle trade. It shares offices and warehouse space with Madison, another H. Young Holdings plc company.

History

Leeda was founded in the 1980s as a distributor and manufacturer serving the UK tackle retail trade, supplying rods, reels, poles, nets, seat boxes and related equipment to specialist angling shops. Over subsequent decades the company expanded its operations and brought additional specialist brands under its ownership, building what it describes as a comprehensive product portfolio spanning coarse, sea, game and carp fishing disciplines. The trading company, Leeda Tackle Limited, was incorporated in April 1994 and is registered at Buckingham House, West Street, Newbury, Berkshire — the registered address of parent group H. Young Holdings plc.

The company describes MAP as one of the leading match fishing brands in Europe. It started in the 1990s as Midland Angling Products. https://www.mapfishing.co.uk

Distributed brands

In addition to its own brands, Leeda has acted as the UK distributor for a number of third-party manufacturers, including the hook maker Mustad, the lure brand MEPPS, the outdoor safety equipment manufacturer Petzl, and the fishing line brand Maxima. Since 2025 it has ceased being a distributor.
