Matthew McClellan is an American broadcast journalist and television news anchor. He currently serves as a weekend morning co-anchor and live weekday field reporter for WTVT (FOX 13 News) in Tampa, Florida, reporting for Good Day Tampa Bay.
Early life and education
McClellan attended Appalachian State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in electronic media and broadcasting.
Career
McClellan began his professional broadcast journalism career working across multiple regional television media markets. He worked as an on-air reporter and anchor at local television news affiliates in Dothan, Alabama, and for WRIC-TV in Richmond, Virginia. In May 2017, he transitioned to the Top-25 media market in Indianapolis, Indiana, joining WRTV as a news anchor and reporter.[1]
In 2019, McClellan relocated to Florida to join the news team at WTVT (FOX 13 Tampa Bay). During his tenure at the station, he has provided on-scene field reporting for regional breaking news headlines, including continuous tracking of Gulf Coast Hurricanes Ian, Helene, and Milton. His television coverage tracks localized consumer issues and economic trends within the regional real estate and public housing markets.[2] In 2024, he created and launched "Matt on the Money," a recurring consumer advocacy segment focusing on personal finance, tax tracking, and localized economic advice for the Tampa Bay market.
Personal life
McClellan resides in Tampa, Florida, with his wife, Noelle.
