Tim Samuel Milčevski, known professionally as Matway, is a Swiss-born Slovenian DJ and record producer of electronic dance music. He is signed to the German division of Sony Music and is best known for the 2025 single "Walking Away (Infinity)", a collaboration with the singer June released on Sony's NITRON music imprint.[1][2] In July 2026, he became one of a small number of Slovenian electronic acts to perform at the Tomorrowland festival in Boom, Belgium.[3]
Early life
Milčevski was born in Switzerland and later moved to Slovenia, where he lives and works. Slovenian media reported his age as 25 at the time of his Tomorrowland appearance in July 2026.[2]
Career
2021–2023: Early releases
Matway began releasing music through independent electronic labels in the early 2020s. His early singles included "Lost In My Mind" on Complex Drop Records, followed by "Gone" and "Stay" on OZLO and "Models" on Future House Cloud. He also appeared on the compilation Slap House 2022, released by Digital Empire Compilations, reflecting the slap house and future house styles of his early output.[4]
During this period, he produced, with Sergio Trillini, an officially released remix of "Disco Cone (Take It High)" by the American singer Enisa featuring WENZL, issued through Atlantic Records.[4]
2024–2025: Sony Music and breakthrough
Matway signed with the German arm of Sony Music.[2] On 24 January 2025, he released "Walking Away (Infinity)" with the vocalist June through NITRON music, a Sony Music Entertainment Germany imprint.[1] The track, a dance-pop reworking of the "Infinity" melody, became his commercial breakthrough, accumulating more than ten million streams and receiving support from DJs including R3HAB and Sam Feldt.[2][5] It also gained airplay on French radio.[5]
The same period saw the release of "Show Me", a collaboration with the Swiss DJ and producer DJ Antoine alongside Mad Mark and Sergio Trillini, featuring Johnny Joined, on the Houseworks label.[4] Further singles followed on Signatune ("Is It Love", "Bad It Is") and Chapter Eight ("Vibrar", with CERES).[4]
2026: Tomorrowland
On 24 July 2026, Matway performed at Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, at a sold-out edition themed Consciencia that featured more than 500 artists across 16 stages, with headliners including Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Hardwell and Lost Frequencies.[3] Ahead of the performance he said the booking had "always been my greatest wish and a goal I wanted to reach", and that he had prepared "a special set full of emotion and energy".[3] The Slovenian public broadcaster RTV Slovenija described the appearance as a significant recognition for the country's electronic music scene.[3]
His single "We Don't Stop" was released on the day of the performance, following "One More Time", "Spin It" and "Turn It Up" on the Broke label.[4]
Live performances and radio
Matway has performed alongside artists including Gabry Ponte, Matroda and Tujamo, and has appeared at clubs across Slovenia as well as at festivals in Zürich.[3]
He hosts a weekly radio show, Matway's Choice, broadcast on Fridays by the Slovenian commercial station Hitradio Center.[4]
Musical style
Matway's productions sit primarily within dance-pop and house, drawing on future house and slap house textures in his earlier work and moving towards vocal-led, radio-oriented dance-pop on his Sony-era releases.[4]
Media presence
As of July 2026, Matway had more than one million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 300,000 followers on TikTok.[3][2]
