Mindset Health Pty Ltd is an Australian digital therapeutics company based in Melbourne that develops mobile applications delivering hypnotherapy-based programs for chronic health conditions.[1] It was founded by brothers Alex and Chris Naoumidis. Its main product, Nerva, delivers gut-directed hypnotherapy for irritable bowel syndrome.[2]

History

Mindset Health was founded by brothers Alex and Chris Naoumidis in 2018[1] and took part in the Y Combinator startup accelerator.[3] Its first product, Nerva, launched in June 2019.[1] The company raised about A$6.7 million in 2021[4] and a further A$17.8 million (US$12 million) in 2023 led by King River Capital, at a reported valuation of about A$77 million,[1] bringing its total funding to about A$24.5 million.[5] In May 2025 it acquired the assets of the U.S. digital therapeutics company Mahana Therapeutics.[6]

Products

Mindset Health's products include Nerva, for irritable bowel syndrome;[2] Evia, for menopausal hot flashes;[7] and Finito, for smoking cessation.[1]

Research

Nerva has been the subject of real-world studies presented at Digestive Disease Week (DDW). Researchers at Monash University reported on adherence and symptom outcomes in a cohort of about 195,000 users[8] and on outcomes in IBS patients with co-morbid inflammatory bowel disease.[9] Collaborators at Mount Sinai studied outcomes in patients with concurrent upper gastrointestinal symptoms,[10] and researchers at Mayo Clinic examined gender differences in early program attrition[11] and the addition of diaphragmatic breathing to gut-directed hypnotherapy.[12] An independent 2024 review in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology identified Nerva as one of the few digital therapeutics for IBS with published clinical evidence.[13]
