Mitto is a leading provider of global, omnichannel communications solutions, supporting business growth with advanced customer engagement technology and messaging enablement.

History

Founded in 2013, Mitto set out to create a next-generation Application-to-Person (A2P) SMS platform, purpose-built for reliability and trusted by businesses worldwide. Offering easy-to-integrate SMS, RCS, Voice, and Chat App APIs (WhatsApp and Viber), next-generation business messaging, and end-to-end phone number intelligence, as well as numerous CRM and marketing platform integrations.

In September 2021, the company expanded into Argentina through strategic carrier relationships, allowing Mitto to reach 100% of the country's mobile phone users through direct connectivity.[1] The September announcement came just two months after Mitto announced that it would be able to deliver business messaging via direct connectivity to all mobile carrier networks (MNOs) in Switzerland.[2] That same month, the company launched messaging connectivity solutions for three of the world's largest social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.[3] In May 2021, Mitto added Viber Business to its already extensive messaging channel roster.[4] In March 2021, Mitto added Google Business Messages to its platform.[5] In January 2021, in order to meet the growing demands for omnichannel communication, Mitto launched its Mitto Conversations platform, enabling businesses to view, monitor, and facilitate two-way communications in one portal.[6]

In August 2020, Mitto expanded its direct connectivity service to the top three MNOs in Japan to provide secure routing of application-to-person (A2P) SMS to 90% of the country.[7] In September 2020, Mitto extended its messaging support for major chat apps, allowing it to reach billions of new users.[8]

During the height of the COVID pandemic, Mitto put an emphasis on customer support and connection by providing extreme transparency during its quarterly business reviews.[9]

Mitto was a winner of the 2022 Excellence in Customer Service Awards in the "Technology of the Year" category for its conversational messaging platform, Mitto Conversations.[10]

Mitto was named Best Overall Conversational Marketing Company at the 2023 MarTech Breakthrough Awards, recognizing the company's innovation and leadership in conversational customer engagement solutions.[11]

In September 2023, Mitto was recognized in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS).[12]

The company was again recognized in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CPaaS in June 2024.[13]

Juniper Research has announced Mitto as one of the winners of the Future Digital Awards for Telco Innovation 2024, recognizing leaders driving innovation across the telecoms industry. Andrea Giacomini, CEO of Mitto, was named "Mover & Shaker in Telco Innovation" for his leadership and contribution to advancing innovation in global communications.[14]

In July 2025, Mitto was once more positioned in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS).[15]

Mitto was also included in the Juniper Research's A2P & Business Messaging Market Report 2025–2030.[16]

The company was recognized in the 2026 edition of Gartner Magic Quadrant for Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS)[17] and featured in Mobile Messaging Market: 2026-2030 by Juniper Research.[18]
