NextWorld2 is a Hungarian-developed fantasy MMORPG developed and published by Donut Interactive Kft. The game uses a proprietary graphics engine. Its official release date was July 6, 2024.
Gameplay
NextWorld2 is a fantasy MMORPG in which players can choose from four classes: Warrior, Ninja, Ezra, and Shaman. Each class has two specializations that offer different combat styles for both PvE (Player vs Environment) and PvP (Player vs Player). The game features two empires: the Kingdom of Selakim and the Kingdom of Quila. Players choose one at the start, then learn the basics of movement, combat, equipment, and mount usage through tutorial quests.[1]
Development
The predecessor of NextWorld2 was NW2Online, which operated between 2010 and 2024 as a standalone game server. NextWorld2 was developed with a proprietary graphics engine and officially released on July 6, 2024.[1][2] The official trailer was released on YouTube in July 2024.[3] For nearly a year after release, the two games operated in parallel, then on April 6, 2025, a full database merge took place during the so-called Merge Event. This united the NW2Online and NextWorld2 player communities, so since then all players have continued their adventures together in the NextWorld2 universe.
Reception
Multiple websites praised the activity of the developers and the overall community of NextWorld2.[1][2]
