Nicholas Ho Lik-chi serves as the Commissioner for Belt and Road for the Hong Kong Government since 1 September 2023.[1] He is the son of Bosco Ho Hin-ngai, a local reputable architect.[2] Before joining the government, Ho worked as a registered architect and held roles at architectural firm Ho & Partners Architects Engineers & Development Consultants Limited.[3][4]
Policy and external engagement
In a 2025 interview, Ho said Hong Kong aimed to enhance connectivity with Belt and Road economies by increasing flight frequencies to selected destinations and exploring new routes to parts of Southeast Asia and the Middle East, describing ASEAN, Central Asia and the Middle East as "core development markets".[5]
In 2024, Ho told The National that Hong Kong was in talks with sovereign wealth funds in the Gulf (including the UAE and Saudi Arabia) regarding investment flows into Asian markets, describing Hong Kong as a potential “landing pad” to channel two-way investment between the Middle East and Asia, including Mainland China.[6]
