Nomint, stylised in all caps NOMINT, is an animation and production studio based in London. It was founded in 2006 in Athens, Greece, by Yannis Konstantinidis and Christos Lefakis, both trained as architects, and later relocated to London.^[1][2] The studio works across stop motion, 2D, 3D and mixed-media animation, and is known for its stop-motion films for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and a 2026 BBC trailer for the 2026 Winter Olympics.^[3][4] Its films have received advertising and craft awards over several years, including D&AD Yellow Pencils in 2024 and 2026 and Grand Clios in 2025 and 2026.^[5][6][7][8]

Konstantinidis and Lefakis met as architecture students at University College London and both trained as architects before moving into animation.^[1] They founded Nomint in 2006 in Athens as a multidisciplinary venture intended to span architecture, graphic design, animation and theatre; the company ultimately concentrated on animation.^[2] After several years operating in Athens, the studio relocated to London.^[1]

In addition to producing its own films, Nomint represents a roster of directors and artists for commercial work. Among those it has represented are the illustrator and art director Ugo Gattoni, who designed the official posters for the 2024 Summer Olympics,^[9][10] and the mixed-media director Ariel Costa, known as BlinkMyBrain.^[11]

Between 2021 and 2024, Nomint produced a series of stop-motion films for the WWF, each timed to coincide with the annual United Nations climate change conference and each built around a physically volatile, in-camera technique.^[3][12] The first, We Can't Negotiate the Melting Point of Ice (2021), was released around the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow.^[12] A Flammable Planet (2022) used a flammable set and real flames, and was shot entirely in camera using stop-motion together with slow-motion, time-lapse and long-exposure techniques.^[13][14][15] It was followed by Up in Smoke (2023), which animated real smoke,^[3] and In Hot Water (2024), which was captured using a thermal camera.^[16]

In 2026, Nomint produced Trails Will Blaze, a stop-motion trailer for the BBC's coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics, directed by Konstantinidis in collaboration with BBC Creative. The film combined stop-motion animation with real fire and used hundreds of individually 3D-printed athlete figures.^[4][17][18]

Nomint's films have been recognised at major advertising and craft awards over several years, principally its films for the WWF and the BBC.

We Can't Negotiate the Melting Point of Ice (2021) received three Cannes Lions (two silver and one bronze),^[12][19] a gold Clio in Film Craft (Animation),^[20] a Graphite Pencil at the D&AD Awards,^[21] a Gold Pencil at The One Show,^[22][19] and a bronze ADC Award, all in 2022.^[23][19] A Flammable Planet (2022) won a D&AD pencil the following year.^[3] Up in Smoke (2023) won the Grand Prix in animation at the 2024 CICLOPE Festival^[24][25] and a Yellow Pencil and two Graphite Pencils at the 2024 D&AD Awards.^[5] In Hot Water (2024) won a Grand Clio in Film Craft and was named Film Craft "of the Year" at the 2025 Clio Awards,^[7][26] a Grand Prix in animation at the 2025 CICLOPE Festival,^[27] and Best of Non-Profit at the 2025 ADC Annual Awards.^[28][29] The studio's BBC trailer Trails Will Blaze won a Grand Clio in Film Craft, the program's top award, at the 2026 Clio Awards,^[8][30] and four pencils at the 2026 D&AD Awards - one Yellow, one Graphite and two Wood - across the animation, visual effects and production design categories.^[6]
