Persona Lens is an iOS application that performs personality analysis from conversational text imported from messaging applications such as WhatsApp and Telegram. The application was released in 2026 by independent developer Fabrice, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[1]
Approach
The application is part of a category sometimes referred to as behaviour-based personality inference, in contrast to self-report questionnaires such as the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator and astrology-based applications. Its methodology draws on research in language-based personality assessment, including the work of H. Andrew Schwartz and colleagues on language and the Big Five personality traits,[2] and the work of Wu Youyou, Michal Kosinski and David Stillwell at the University of Cambridge on computer-based personality judgments from digital footprints.[3]
Features
The application provides six analysis modes (referred to as "lenses"): Self, Romantic, Friendship, Professional, Family, and Group. Each lens applies a structured psychometric framework to the imported conversation and returns a textual report. The application is available in English, French, Spanish, and Russian.[1]
Privacy
The developer states that conversations imported into the application are not stored on the application's servers and are not used for training machine learning models.[4]
