Draft:Rapid Color Technology

Rapid Color Technology (RCT)

Rapid Color Technology (RCT) is a water-based digital inkjet printing process developed by Zhengzhou Hongsam Digital Science & Technology Co., Ltd.[1] The process integrates digital drop-on-demand ink application with localized chemical reactions to fixate pigment ink and dye ink on textile and non-woven substrates without traditional offline pre-treatment process.

Technology and mechanism

RCT applies functional water-based inks using industrial inkjet printheads, including those from Epson, Ricoh, and Kyocera. The process relies on localized chemical reactions controlled at the pixel level:

  • Selective Deposition: Pre-treatment liquids are applied only to areas that will be printed, reducing chemical usage compared to full-fabric coating.
  • Dynamic Dose Control: Real time adjusted coating volume based on pattern density for optimal performance with minimal chemistry.
  • Application on non-absorbent substrates: For non-absorbent substrates such as glass, metal, and plastic, RCT in-line digital pigment ink printing technology enables direct printing without the need for pre-treatment process. The special ink forms a functional coating, enabling direct ink deposition on hard surfaces.

Product applications

The process serves as the basis for several specialized textile/garment printing solutions:

  • JETEXTILE Pigment Ink Printing: A water-based pigment ink formulation intended for natural fibers such as cotton, linen, silk, and wool.
  • HOTME Disperse Ink Printing: A disperse dye formulation engineered for polyester and polyester-spandex blends, designed to control dye penetration on stretch textiles.
  • JETALL Latex Ink Printing: A water-based polymer system developed for non-absorbent synthetic materials, including polyurethane (PU), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and microfiber leathers.
  • Hong-Jet Powderless DTF Printing: A direct-to-film transfer system that utilizes self-crosslinking resins, eliminating the requirement for thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) hot-melt powder.
