Comment: It's helpful that you've cited several books that are reliable secondary sources that are independent of the author of the software, but the general inclusion criteria for a standalone article (WP:GNG) requires "significant coverage" that is "more than a trivial mention", and most of these books only have brief mentions of Resource Tuner, with little in-depth coverage. Also, please note, if this is your company, please disclose your conflict of interest: Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Thank you! Dreamyshade (talk) 04:57, 9 August 2026 (UTC)

Resource Tuner is a shareware resource editor for Microsoft Windows developed by Heaventools Software in 2001. It is used to view, search, extract, and modify resources embedded in Portable Executable (PE) files, including executable programs (.exe) and dynamic-link libraries (.dll) used in Windows operating systems.[1][2][3]
Resource Tuner has been described in technical literature on Windows development and executable analysis as one of several utilities used to inspect and modify compiled Windows binaries without access to source code, alongside tools such as Resource Hacker and PE Explorer.[4][5] Such tools are used in software localization, application customization, reverse engineering, malware analysis, and other forms of static program analysis.[6]
History
Resource Tuner was released in 2001 by Heaventools Software as a commercial resource editor for Windows Portable Executable files. A command-line counterpart, Resource Tuner Console, was introduced later in 2004 to support automated resource editing, batch processing tasks, and build automation scenarios through the Windows Script Host.[7]
Overview
Resource Tuner provides a graphical interface for viewing and modifying resources stored within PE files.[2] Supported resource types include user interface elements and application data such as icons, cursors, dialog boxes, menus, string tables, images, keyboard shortcuts, manifest files, version information, and other embedded resources used by Windows applications.[8][9]
Resources can be viewed, extracted, replaced, and modified through built-in wizards for each resource type. The software also supports automatic unpacking of compressed executable files[2] and provides an API for plugin development.[10]
