Richard Slade (born 19 February 1999) is a British distance and cross country runner. He won the 2025 English National Cross Country Championship and represented Great Britain at the 2025 European Cross Country Championships.[1]

Career

Slade is a member of Chiltern Harriers.[2] In January 2025, Slade was selected as part of the England team to take part in this CrossCup series, a World Athletics World Tour Gold Level event.[3] Slade won the English National Cross Country Championship in February 2025 in Parliament Hill, London.[4]

Slade had a third-place finish at the 2025 Liverpool Cross Challenge on 22 November to gain automatic selection for the British team at the 2025 European Cross Country Championships,[5][6][7] placing 38th overall in Lagoa, Portugal in December 2025.[8] The following month he was selected to run for England at the Lotto Cross Cup de Hannut in Belgium, placing eleventh overall.[9][10] Slade was runner-up to Hugo Milner in the men's senior race at the London Cross Challenge at Parliament Hill on 7 February 2026.[11] Later that month, he placed third at the English National Cross Country Championships in Sedgefield.[12]
