Evans Mireku (born May 28, 1995), professionally known as Dr Evans Mireku and popularly known by his stage name Rio Mighty, is a Ghanaian-born, Chinese-trained medical doctor, gospel musician, public health practitioner, and Christian minister. He is well known for the hit songs "Catch the Anointing^[1]," "Second Chance^[2]," and "Where Is Your Bus?^[3]"

Evans Mireku was born on May 28, 1995, in Accra, Ghana's Greater Accra Region. He hails from Kwahu in the Eastern Region of Ghana, where his family traces its roots. He is one of eight children born to Fred Mireku and Susana Mireku.

Mireku pursued his medical education in China, where he earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Shenyang Medical College, graduating in July 2023. His academic training contributed to his interests in surgery, public health, health systems strengthening, and community-based health interventions.

He later pursued a Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH) at the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom. During his time there, he served as President of the Public Health Society, supporting student-led initiatives, research discussions, and advocacy related to global health and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dr Evans Mireku works across medicine, public health advocacy, music, and Christian ministry. In addition to his clinical and public health–related activities, he has been involved in volunteer work connected to international development initiatives, including participation in United Nations–related advocacy and youth engagement activities.

Mireku is the founder and chief executive officer of the Rio Mighty Foundation^[4], a non-profit organisation focused on youth empowerment, community development, public health awareness, and faith-based outreach.
