Roy Joseph Deferrari (1 June 1890 – 24 August 1969) was an American classical scholar, university professor and bestselling author.

Life

He was born on 1 June 1890 in Stoneham, Massachusetts.[1]

He got married to Evelyn Mary Biggi on 30 December 1920.[2]

He died on 24 August 1969 in Washington, D.C..[3]

Education

He completed his A.B. at Dartmouth University in 1912, his M.A. at Princeton University in 1913.[4]

His doctoral dissertation was on Lucian's Atticism: The Morphology of the Verb.[5]

Career

He served as a professor in the Catholic University’s Greek and Latin Department.[6]
