SENBOX Framework is a special education framework and Learning management system(lms) based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.[1] The organization also operates a special education center in Ho Chi Minh City that applies the framework directly.[2]
History
Founder Doyle Mueller is a German trained early childhood educator with a background in natural sciences, family support, and behavioral management for young adults with autism spectrum disorder.[1] Before arriving in Vietnam, Mueller spent 10 years working with children with learning disabilities across the world, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam.[1] He began studying special education practices in Vietnam in 2014, working to introduce Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods locally, and founded SENBOX in 2015.[1] In 2016 the organization introduced SEN:Pocket an AAC classroom tool set and in 2018 it developed its educational framework.[1]
SENBOX's Life skills and Specialized Supports Center opened in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City in 2020, serving ages 3-16.[1] The framework was translated into Vietnamese, German, French, and Spanish by 2023 and as of 2025, SENBOX is digitizing the framework into an LMS and mobile app with a stated 50+ features.[1]
SENBOX Center
SENBOX operates a special education center in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City providing full time, one-on-one or two-on-one intervention from morning to late afternoon for children with intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, ADD, ADHD, and challenging behavior.[3] As of a 2023 visit by Thanh Niên, the center was working with approximately 26 children under this model, with daily sessions from 8 a.m to 5.pm.[2]
Framework and LMS
The SENBOX framework combines educational planning, teacher training, learning materials, data collection, and progress reporting, from initial observation and assessment through Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, daily teaching, and long term skill development.[1]
The SENBOX Learning Management System (LMS) serves as the digital version of the framework. Teachers and supervisors can use the LMS to reach intervention plans, teaching resources, and data collection tools and is intended to connect day-to-day teaching to a child's individual goals.[4]
Recognition
SENBOX has received the Outstanding Leadership Award from Education 2.0 in Dubai in 2022[5], and was recognized as one of the "Top 10 fastest moving companies" in Vietnam by SME in 2023.[6]
