  • Comment: Insufficient demonstration of notability in terms of ideally three examples of the WP:GOLDENRULE. In addition the draft shows clear signs of being assisted by AI, which is not allowed. ChrysGalley (talk) 10:04, 11 July 2026 (UTC)

Sam Homewood is a British television presenter, sports broadcaster, and digital creator. He is most widely recognised for his long-running work with Manchester United and in children's television, where he anchored the CITV weekend morning show Scrambled! from 2014 to 2021, and presented the revival of the heritage educational series HOW from 2020 to 2022. Having built a strong grassroots following through digital and fan-led media, Homewood transitioned into mainstream sports broadcasting and currently serves as a lead presenter, Match Day Live host, and official podcaster for Manchester United.

Early Life and Education

Homewood grew up in Kent and went on to complete a master's degree in Journalism in 2011, establishing the foundation for his media career.

Career

Early Career and Digital Media

Working initially in digital content production, Homewood served as a freelance video editor and digital presenter for popular entertainment publications such as Digital Spy. During this time, he produced and fronted digital video campaigns and tie-in content for major reality television programmes, including presenting a street interviews segment on Love Island and its companion show Love Island: Aftersun.[1]

Homewood’s breakthrough in sports media came through the rapidly growing sector of fan-led digital channels. He became a primary presenter and pundit for FullTimeDEVILS (later rebranded as Stretford Paddock), which grew to become one of the largest and most influential Manchester United fan channels on YouTube. His natural, conversational presenting style and boots-on-the-ground match-day fan interviews helped pioneer a new style of digital sports journalism, catching the attention of mainstream television executives.[2]

Children's and Entertainment Television

In 2014, Homewood successfully auditioned to be one of the original four presenters of the new CITV weekend morning show, Scrambled!, which launched on 18 January 2014. Designed as a spiritual successor to classic British Saturday morning shows, the programme featured a chaotic mix of comedy sketches, interactive games, and cartoons. Homewood remained the programme's steady anchor and stayed for its entire duration, presenting all 367 episodes until the series concluded on 11 April 2021. During his time on the show, Homewood participated in numerous on-air challenges, breaking multiple official Guinness World Records which led to him being featured in subsequent editions of the annual Guinness World Records book.[3]

In 2019, Homewood co-hosted the British Academy Children's Awards ceremony in London.[4]

In 2020, Homewood was announced as part of the presenting lineup for the highly anticipated revival of the iconic CITV educational show HOW, appearing alongside Vick Hope, Frankie Vu, and the programme's returning veteran, Fred Dinenage. He remained with the series through its run from 2020 to 2022.[5]

Sports Broadcasting and Manchester United

Capitalising on his extensive background in football media, Homewood made the jump to official club broadcasting in 2018 when he joined Manchester United's club media team. He quickly became a fixture on MUTV, the club's television network, presenting live studio shows and hosting Match Day Live broadcasts from Old Trafford.

Homewood is well known to global football fans as the co-host of the Official Manchester United Podcast, a role he shares with broadcaster Helen Evans and former United defender David May.[6] Through this platform, Homewood has interviewed legendary figures such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Eric Cantona, and Ji-Sung Park. Alongside his work for Manchester United, he has also worked on broadcast coverage for both ITV and the BBC.[7]

Philanthropy

In April 2019, Homewood ran the London Marathon in support of Children with Cancer UK. As part of the charity's "Beads of Courage" programme, he ran the marathon carrying a special "Rainbow Bead" on behalf of an 11-year-old cancer survivor, also named Sam, returning the bead to him at the finish line.[8]
