Saydisc is an independent British record label, run by Gef and Genny Lucena. The company was established in 1965 in Frenchay, Bristol, and moved to its current Inglestone Common location in 1968.[1]
Early releases included recordings of musical boxes and mechanical organs from the Bristol-based Roy Mickleburgh Collection, folk music, and change ringing. Other specialisms have included blues (pre-war and modern), Cotswold dialect, steam locomotive recordings, handbell ensembles, barbershop music, classical music played on authentic/original instruments, world music, jazz, Victoriana, and brass bands.
Those who have recorded for Saydisc include Kenneth Williams, Lucie Skeaping, Maddy Prior, Fred Wedlock, Derroll Adams, Wizz Jones, Richard Burnett (pianist), and the chamber ensemble, Fretwork (band).
