Semyon Chudin (Russian: Семён Чудин; born 18 February 1985) is a Russian ballet dancer and principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet. He previously danced with the Universal Ballet Company in South Korea, Zurich Ballet in Switzerland, and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre before joining the Bolshoi Ballet in 2011.[1][2]
Early life and education
Chudin graduated from the Novosibirsk Choreographic College in 2003, where he studied under Alexander Shelemov.[1][2]
Career
After graduating from the Novosibirsk Choreographic College in 2003, Chudin joined the Universal Ballet Company in Seoul, South Korea under the direction of Oleg Vinogradov, where he danced until 2007. During this period, he was coached by Evgeny Neff.[2]
From 2007 to 2008, he was a principal dancer with Zurich Ballet.
From 2008 to 2011, he was a principal dancer with the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre.
In 2011, Chudin joined the Bolshoi Ballet as a principal dancer. At the Bolshoi Ballet, he has performed leading roles in classical and contemporary productions, including Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Prince Désiré in The Sleeping Beauty, Lensky in Onegin, and Apollo in Apollon Musagète.[3]
