Sh2-29 is an emission nebula that is part of the Sharpless catalog. It is located in the constellation Sagittarius, near the Lagoon Nebula, and is approximately 5,500 light-years away from Earth.

Characteristics

Star-forming region NGC 6559, imaged by the Danish 1.54-metre telescope. The "arc" caused by the binary system is visible within it.
