Shaye Doherty (born 19 June 1998) is an American soccer player from Toana, Virginia playing for the USL W League team Richmond Ivy. She was born in Red Bank, NJ.
Career
Warhill High School (2016)
Doherty played for Warhill High School where in 2016 she lead the team to the Conference 25 girls soccer title as well as earning a Conference Player of the year nod and second team All-State honor.[1]
As a senior for Warhill she scored 16 goals and 6 assists in 15 games played.[2]
Doherty notched three first team All-Conference honors, and honorable mention All-District once. In her sophomore and senior years she added first team All-Region honors. As a junior she secured second team All-Region honors.[3]
Christopher Newport University (2016-2019)
Doherty competed at Christopher Newport University, appearing in 86 matches over four years with the Captains.
During her freshman season in 2016, she started all 21 matches, recording one goal and two assists over 1,708 minutes of play.[3]
Doherty during her sophomore year, started all 21 matches and accumulated 1,403 minutes on the field. She was part of a record-breaking CNU defense that ranked 27th nationally and tied the single-season school record with 12 shutouts. She also contributed two assists in 2017.[3]
As a junior in 2018, she earned Second Team All-Conference honors in the Coast to Coast Athletic Conference, starting all 23 matches in which she played. She achieved a career-high four assists over 1,500 minutes of play.[3]
In her senior year Doherty played in 21 games and started 16. She had two assists over 1421 minutes.[3]
Richmond Ivy (2025-)
Doherty joined the pre-professional USLW Richmond Ivy SC in 2025. During her first season with the team she played in six games getting one assist over 394 minutes.
She returned to the Ivy in 2026 playing in four games and garnering 48 minutes.
