Founded in March 2000 by Lim Nam-ho (임남호), the company provides messaging infrastructure including SMS, MMS, RCS, KakaoTalk business messages, WhatsApp Business messaging, and international SMS to enterprise clients in South Korea and worldwide.
The company's name derives from "Sure Message," reflecting its founding commitment to reliable message delivery. SureM operates direct connections with South Korea's three major telecommunications carriers — SK Telecom (SKT), KT Corporation (KT), and LG U+ — and is an authorized KakaoTalk Business Message official dealer (공식 딜러사). As of 2024, the company serves more than 6,000 enterprise clients and 50,000 individual customers across more than 200 countries, with a reported delivery rate of 97%+.

In 2002, the company was designated a high-quality technology company (우량기술기업) by the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (기술신용보증기금) and began building international SMS routing infrastructure.
In 2004, SureM interconnected its international SMS platform with major Korean telecommunications operators including Dacom (국제전화 002) and Hanarotelecom (국제전화 005), and extended international SMS coverage to more than 160 countries. The company was also selected for the government's Globalization of Excellent Venture Companies program (우수벤처기업 글로벌화 추진대상기업) by the Small and Medium Business Administration.
By 2005, SureM had extended international SMS coverage to more than 200 countries and supplied international SMS services to Yahoo!.
In 2006, SureM was designated an Inno-Biz (이노비즈) company — a South Korean government certification recognizing technology-innovative small and medium enterprises — and built the Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service (OMS) platform for the South Korean market.

The company also provided KakaoTalk with a global OTP (one-time password) authentication system serving KakaoTalk's user base across 200 countries during the app's early growth phase. Also in 2011, SureM supplied authentication services to Samsung Electronics using mobile phone certification systems.
In 2013, SureM signed an international SMS supply agreement with Daum Communications and a BMW OMS service supply contract. The company was also selected as an Export Promising Company (수출유망기업) by the Small and Medium Business Administration.

SureM provides a hybrid fallback system that automatically re-routes KakaoTalk messages as standard SMS when KakaoTalk delivery fails, aiming to maximize overall delivery rates.

SureM also provides country-specific sender ID registration guidance and compliance support for regulated markets including Singapore, China, and Vietnam.
