TDCX is a global business process outsourcing company headquartered in Singapore.[1] Founded in 1995, the company listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021 and was taken private in 2024.[2] Its services include customer experience (CX) solutions, sales and digital marketing, and content moderation.[1]

History

Background and formation

TDCX was founded in 1995 by Laurent Junique in Singapore as Teledirect Telecommerce, a telemarketing company that provided outsourced call center services, including calls, emails, and faxes, for clients.[3]

The company's corporate history is documented in the Form F-1 registration statement filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in September 2021.[4]

In 1997, WPP Singapore Pte Ltd — part of WPP plc, a London-based communications and advertising company — acquired a 40% stake in Teledirect Pte Ltd.[4]

TDCX Holdings, initially incorporated as Oasix Pte Ltd, was registered as a private company limited by shares under the Companies Act, Chapter 50 of Singapore in 1999, and was renamed Agorae Pte Ltd in May 2001.[4]

In September 2018, Agorae Pte Ltd acquired the 40% share of Teledirect Pte Ltd previously held by WPP Singapore Pte Ltd. Following a cancellation of Junique's shares, Teledirect Pte Ltd became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Agorae Pte Ltd in January 2019.[4]

On 3 December 2019, Agorae Pte Ltd was renamed TDCX Holdings Pte. Ltd. On 4 December 2019, Teledirect Pte Ltd was renamed TDCX (SG) Pte. Ltd.[5]

Growth and expansion

Between the 2000s and 2010s, TDCX expanded its services to include omnichannel CX solutions, sales and digital marketing, content monitoring and moderation, workspace and payroll services, technical support, and e-commerce.

Between the 2000s and 2010s, the company also opened offices in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Mainland China, India, Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, Spain, Romania, Brazil, and Colombia.

In 2021, TDCX listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) via an initial public offering (IPO) priced at US$18 per American Depositary Share (ADS), comprising an offer of 19.4 million ADS with gross proceeds of US$348.5 million.[6] In 2024, the company was taken private by founder Laurent Junique in a transaction valued at approximately US$1 billion.[7][8]

In 2023, TDCX opened a Digital Customer Experience Center of Excellence in Singapore.[9]

In 2025, TDCX acquired U.S.-headquartered Open Access BPO[10] and data labeling and annotation platform SUPA.[11] The company introduced a new brand identity under the tagline “Enable the Future".[12]

In 2025, TDCX invested in TalentPop, a California-based digital customer experience management company.[13]

In 2023, TDCX launched an AI consulting subsidiary, TDCX AI, which applies generative AI in CX delivery.[28][29] In 2023, the company established TDCX Talent Solutions,[30] which provides talent management services from recruitment to retention.[31]

In 2025, TDCX introduced a new brand identity.[32] The company's clients include Volvo, Meta, and Airbnb.[33] According to TDCX, its services for Singapore Airlines reduced customer handling time by 27% and produced a customer satisfaction score of 90%.[34]

Organizational initiatives

The TDCX Foundation was established in 2022 to fund digital literacy initiatives as part of the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.[43]

According to the company's Sustainability Report, TDCX partnered with 36 institutions on 41 CSR projects in 2023, recording over 2,000 volunteer hours and reaching 8,000 beneficiaries.[44]

In 2024, TDCX expanded its CSR activities to 62 projects across 41 partner institutions, recording 3,477 volunteer hours and reaching 24,390 beneficiaries.[44]

In 2023, TDCX received a CSR award at the Brands For Good Awards.[45]

As of 2024, TDCX held ISO 14064-1:2018 verification. The company previously held a carbon neutral designation from the British Standards Institution (BSI) under PAS 2060. Two of its Philippine campuses use renewable energy.[46]

Local corporate social responsibility

According to TDCX's Sustainability Report 2024, the company undertook localized CSR activities in partnership with regional organizations.[44]

TDCX's Singapore and Hong Kong offices provided meals for marginalized communities through Willing Hearts and Food Angel by Bo Charity Foundation respectively. The Thailand office prepared traditional meals in Wang Thong Lang. The Philippine and Singapore offices conducted coastal clean-up activities at Tondo and Manila City, Tanza Marine Tree Park in Navotas City, and East Coast Park in Singapore, collecting over 170 sacks of waste.

TDCX Philippines conducted activities with Love Our Own Brethren, Inc. and was a Bronze Sponsor of the Uygongco Foundation Run 2024, raising funds for schools in Iloilo City, Capiz, and Guimaras. The Philippine branch conducted a blood donation drive with the Philippine Red Cross in 2024, collecting 130 blood bags.[44][47]

TDCX Thailand launched a digital library project in partnership with World Vision Thailand at Puppan Wittaya School, serving over 200 students and staff. The Thailand office planted 100 mangrove trees in the Khlong Khon subdistrict and conducted activities with the Foundation for Children (FFC) orphanage.[44][47]

TDCX Malaysia donated essential items to and participated in activities with the Selangor & Federal Territory Association for the Mentally Handicapped (SAMH).[44][47]

Security certifications

The company holds ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013 certifications covering information security management across personnel, physical, systems, and facility security.[48] As of 2025, TDCX Singapore held a Data Protection Trustmark Certification.[49]

TDCX Philippines received the Gold award for Excellence in CSR Strategy at the 2023 HR Excellence Awards.[50] TDCX Malaysia received the Gold award for Best Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the SEEK People & Purpose Awards[51] and the Bronze award for Best Diversity and Inclusion Strategy at the Employee Experience Awards in 2024.[52] TDCX Singapore received the Company of Good 3 Hearts Award in 2024.[53]
