TX2 was born as Timothy Evan Thomas in Cort Collins, CO. He is most widely known as the American alternative rock singer and songwriter TX2. He gained attention in the early 2022 through a combination of social media promotion, viral singles, and touring within the alternative rock and metalcore scenes. TX2’s music mixes pop punk, emo, alternative rock, rap, numetal, metalcore and electronic music, often focusing on themes of mental health, identity, alienation, criminalisation of the queer in the USA, internet culture, and social criticism.

TX2 signed with Hopeless Records in July 2023 and later toured with artists including Ice Nine Kills, In This Moment, The Word Alive, and Beartooth.

TX2 originally released music independently as a solo artist before launching TX2 as a band with multiple members. Early releases built a following online, particularly on TikTok, where TX2 became known for his often over the top videos and provacative song lyrics.

In 2023, the single “I Would Hate Me Too” became one of TX2’s breakout songs online and helped expand the band’s audience beyond social media. During this period, TX2 released several singles and EPs while touring nationally and expanding into Europe.

In 2023, TX2 toured with Magnolia Park on a United States tour, before featuring on their track 'Life In The USA'.

In June of 2024 TX2 played Download Festival in the United Kingdom, and Aftershock Festival in California. That same year, TX2 appeared on the Kiss of Death Tour Part 2 tour alongside Ice Nine Kills, In This Moment, and Avatar.

TX2 released the single “MAD” featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills on August 28, 2024.

Additional collaborations during this period included “Vendetta”, featuring Johnny 3 Tears of Hollywood Undead, and “THIS ISN’T ABOUT DRUGS (I SWEAR)”, featuring From First to Last.

In 2025, TX2 joined the touring festival Summer of Loud alongside Beartooth, Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, I Prevail, The Devil Wears Prada, The Amity Affliction, and Alpha Wolf. TX2 also performed at the Vans Warped Tour stop in Long Beach, California.

In July and August of 2025 TX2 toured with The Word Alive and later announced the project’s first headline tour across Europe and the United Kingdom.

TX2 frequently collaborates with other artists. Recent collaborations include "Feed" featuring DeathByRomy, "Nice Guy" featuring Ekoh, "The End Of Us" featuring Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides, and "Murder Scene" featuring Magnolia Park.

TX2 released his debut album End Of Us in February 2026 on Hopeless Records.

On April 25, 2026 TX2 kicked off their North American tour with Black Veil Brides, As December Falls, and From Ashes To New.

TX2 has received polarized reactions within the alternative and metalcore scene. Supporters have praised his openness about mental health, identity, and online harassment, while critics have pointed out his heavy use of social media and his confrontational online persona. He's also been criticised for allegedly telling someone to shoot themselves in his song 'Vendetta', when he says "Do it, f*** you".

Kerrang! described Evan Thomas as a “much-hyped altrock icon-in-waiting” in a feature discussing TX2’s debut album End Of Us. Revolver included TX2 in its 6 Best New Songs Right Now feature in 2025.

TX2’s music combines alternative, emo, pop punk, rap, numetal, metalcore, and electronic influences. His sound and style has been associated with the emo revival, metalcore, and TikTok alternative music scenes. More recent music has shown a shift in TX2's style, with their song 'Evil Is Contagious' being made with a ska punk instrumental co-created with Reel Big Fish.

TX2 lists Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and Eminem as his influences.
