The Centerman (ザ・センターマン, Za Sentāman )[1] also known as "Senterman", is a character portrayed by Taizo Harada from the Japanese comedy show called "The Adventures of Laughing Dog"[1] (笑う犬の冒険, Warau inu no bouken) or commonly referred to as "Laughing Dog" (笑っている犬, Waratte iru inu) made by Fuji Television airing from 1998-2003 and regular programs until 2008-2010 to Special Program. or more commonly associated with the comedy group Neptune.

The official name of the skit is "The Center Man"., However, in addition to "The Center Man," there were many other funny segments called "Laughing Dog," such as "Terry and Dolly," "Announcer School," "Choo Choo Director,", "Are you fifty-fifty?" and "Pattaya Beach." The song involves dancing to the commercial song Synchronized Love.[2] When dancing, female dancers known as Center Girls, not Takefuji Dancers, who appeared in the theme song for "Takefuji" which was popular at the time.

The share of money between the two characters, who are different for each skit, "The True Five Minutes" Fair warrior who tries to divide it into equal half's, they have their own criteria for judging, such as "About 7:3 is just right," so even if they are satisfied and decide on a new share, they may still criticize the decision. Appearance

The character's defining visual trait is a costume that is split vertically down the middle the left side shows him as a superhero with the a Takefuji logo or a 50, while the other side shows him as a seemingly "normal" or "naked" man. He seems to have a clean shave on his lower body. The Centerman is portrayed by comedian Taizo Harada.

Every episode he appears wearing a red plastic over the naked side and dramatically takes it off to the shock of the other characters. who appeared in the theme song for "Takefuji," which was popular at the time.[2]

History

At the time of the broadcast, Takefuji (who's commercial was parodied) apparently tolerated the show, but he was scolded harshly by the bigwigs at Fuji TV and his agency. Perhaps because of this, when The Adventures of Laughing Dog was rebroadcast on CS earlier, this skit was cut along with scenes featuring scandals and people who had retired from the entertainment industry.

  • In recent years, Centerman has gained renewed attention due to the minor supporting character Fumihiko Takaba from the Japanese manga/anime Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami after appearing in the Culling Games (alongside Megumi Fushiguro and against Iori Hazenoki) and Shinjuku Showdown Arc.(against Kenjaku) Takaba's unique half-superhero, half-bare-chested costume is a direct homage to Taizo Harada's Centerman character.
  • He has an American twin with the same name, but his costume is on the other half of his body and has a red and white strips on his legs and is slightly chubby (Center Man USA) appears as a rival (USA), But he's actually Australian. And his rival.
