Early life and education

Wenisch grew up in the Allgäu region of Bavaria, Germany, and developed an early passion for endurance sports. As a youth athlete, he competed in track and field, progressing through various state squads in middle-distance running events from 800 m to 3,000 m. His greatest early success was an eighth-place finish at the German Championships over 3,000 m, in addition to a Bavarian title."Tim Wenisch – Hyrox Programming – Personaltrainer". Qalcha. HYROX career

Early career (2018–2022)

Wenisch entered his first HYROX race in 2018, during the sport's inaugural season, when the event was still known as "Currox". He competed in the Pro category and qualified for the World Championships in Oberhausen, where he won the age group (16–24) title."Tim Wenisch – Hyrox Programming – Personaltrainer". Qalcha. Retrieved 2026-02-21.

In the 2019–2020 season, he qualified for the age group World Championships in Leipzig via a virtual competition held during the COVID-19 pandemic. He defended his title and recorded the fastest time of the day, running under 60 minutes — faster than any athlete in the elite category."Tim Wenisch – Hyrox Programming – Personaltrainer". Qalcha. Retrieved 2026-02-21.

In the 2021–2022 season, following several international event victories, Wenisch qualified for the Elite World Championships in Las Vegas, where he finished as the best-placed German athlete in fourth place.

Rise to prominence (2022–2023)

The 2022–2023 season was Wenisch's strongest to date, featuring event wins, a second place at the European Championships, and multiple world and European records in age group and doubles categories. He set a personal best time of 56:06 in Cologne."Tim Wenisch – Hyrox Programming – Personaltrainer". Qalcha. Retrieved 2026-02-21. However, he was unable to compete at the Elite World Championships in Manchester due to injury.

Injury setbacks (2023–2024)

Despite qualifying for the Elite World Championships in both the 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 seasons, Wenisch was unable to compete at either event. Hip problems forced his withdrawal from Manchester, and a thrombosis diagnosis shortly before the 2024 World Championships in Nice prevented his participation for a second consecutive year."Tim Wenisch – Hyrox Programming – Personaltrainer". Qalcha. Retrieved 2026-02-21.

2024–2025: World Championships in Chicago

Wenisch returned to competition pain-free for the first time in two years for the 2024–2025 Elite 15 season, recording two second-place finishes to re-establish himself among the world's top athletes."Tim Wenisch – Hyrox Programming – Personaltrainer". Qalcha. Retrieved 2026-02-21. He has competed in over 40 career HYROX races across multiple seasons."Tim Wenisch – Race Results and Statistics". HyCoach. Retrieved 2026-02-21.
