TrueMeter Inc. is a privately held software company founded in 2023 and headquartered in San Francisco. The company develops a platform that uses artificial intelligence to manage utility billing and energy costs for businesses with multiple locations in the United States.[1]
History
TrueMeter was originally named EcoTrove.[2] The company launched its platform in March 2024.[3] By September 2025, the company reported serving more than 500 business locations.[3]
In 2026, co-founder Ali Sarilgan was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the Energy and Green Tech category.[1][4]

Platform and services
TrueMeter operates a subscription-based platform that analyzes utility rate structures, automates supplier switching for electricity, coordinates natural-gas procurement, and audits bills for businesses operating across multiple locations.[3] The platform uses machine learning and large language model techniques to parse utility bills in varied formats and automate rate-plan comparisons.[5]
Funding
TrueMeter raised approximately US$1.5 million in a pre-seed round led by Pear VC.[3] In September 2025, the company closed a US$4 million seed round led by Ulu Ventures, bringing total funding to about US$5.5 million.[3][6]
