Tyler Jacks is an American music educator and band director based in Austin, Texas. He serves as Associate Director of Bands at James Bowie High School, where he directs concert ensembles and contributes to the school’s marching band program.[1]
Early life and education
Jacks is a native of Austin, Texas. He attended Grisham Middle School and Westwood High School, where he participated in the school’s band program and was recognized as a student leader. During his senior year, he received a band booster scholarship.[2]
He later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Studies with high honors.[1] While at the university, he studied trombone under Nathanael Brickens and worked as a marching technician at Westwood High School and Leander High School.[1]

The Bowie High School Trombone Choir has been invited to perform at the Midwest Clinic, an international band and orchestra conference.[1]
Performance career
Jacks marched baritone with the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2017, where he was featured as a soloist in the corps’ production Ouroboros.[1] The production earned a silver medal at the Drum Corps International World Championships.
He has also performed internationally with the University of Texas Trombone Choir, including an appearance at the International Trombone Festival in Valencia, Spain, in 2015.[1]
