Ultimo (also referred to as IFS Ultimo) is a Dutch provider of enterprise asset management (EAM) software. The company develops software used by organisations in manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare to manage maintenance and operational assets. Founded in the Netherlands in 1988,[1] Ultimo became part of IFS in 2022.[2]

History

Ultimo was founded in the Netherlands in 1988, initially developing software for maintenance management.[1] The company subsequently expanded its international operations, establishing a presence in Belgium, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

In July 2022, Ultimo was acquired by IFS, a global enterprise software company specialising in ERP, EAM, and field service management.[3][4][5][6][7][8] At the time of the acquisition, Ultimo had more than 2,000 customers across 40 countries, including Hutchinson Ports ECT Rotterdam, London Gatwick, and BASF.[3] Following the acquisition, Ultimo continued to operate as a standalone business unit within the IFS portfolio. In 2024, Ultimo was recognised as a leader in the Verdantix Green Quadrant for enterprise asset management software[9][10] and IFS, including Ultimo, received the Customers' Choice designation in the 2025 Gartner Peer Insights Voice of the Customer report for enterprise asset management software.[11] Ultimo received a Gold Stevie Award for sales and customer service in 2026[12] and the Best Asset Management Innovation Impact Award at the International Maintenance Conference in December 2025.[13]

Products and technology

Ultimo develops enterprise asset management software used by organisations to manage physical assets, maintenance activities, and operational processes.[14] The platform serves sectors including manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, and includes modules for health, safety, and environmental (HSE) management.

In 2024, the company introduced artificial intelligence capabilities within its platform to support maintenance and operational workflows.[15][16][17] In 2025, the company introduced an agentic AI strategy and its first agentic AI use case, focused on autonomous environment, health, and safety incident reporting.[18][19][20]

Acquisitions

In July 2024, Ultimo acquired Mainsaver, a US-based provider of maintenance management software.[21]

In August 2025, Ultimo acquired FSI, a United States-based provider of healthcare facilities and healthcare technology management software.[21][22][23]
